Partnering

Our Oakland : Eastside Stories is a public art and community building project by artist Rene Yung, which was commissioned by the City for the new East Oakland Public Library. We are building a dynamic website where community members can share photos, videos, audio, and written stories about East Oakland.

We are building a network of featured content partners to develop mutually-beneficial and mission-supporting partnerships that will bring greater visibility and growing sense of the interconnectedness of the communities in East Oakland. Featured Partners can include non-profits that empower youth through the creation of media, as well as other community non-profits.

Our Oakland is about the amazing people and organizations in the community who are working hard to make East Oakland a better place to live. It's about everyday lives, memories, and dreams and about the rich history and diverse assets in the community as well as challenges and concerns.

It’s easy, innovative and fun! It's about community building and sharing!

Partnership:

We are looking for organizations with great content that they can add to ouroakland.org and help us build the archive of stories and publicize the project.  As we promote the project, your stories will be placed front and center for site visitors to see, hear, and read.  It's a great way to let people know about your organization, your goals and work, and enjoy your constituents’ stories, video and images in a whole new context. Also, as the project is an online social media tool, you will be able to learn about other individual’s and organization’s stories and interests within East Oakland or that work with East Oakland residents.

Basically, it’s an easy and fun way to engage and interconnect with the community! We want you to share your stories with us!
