Featured Partner Agreement

Thank you for being a part of Our Oakland: Eastside Stories! The work you do every day is vitally important to the East Oakland Community, and we believe that you have great stories about the neighborhood that need to be heard. We are sure your constituents do as well. We’re building this site to let everyone know about the diversity and assets that we’re proud of in this neighborhood. Together, we can build a collection of powerful stories that will inspire us, empower us, and draw us closer together as a community. Thank you for being a part of this mission!

As a Featured Partner, your role will be to:

  1. Create and add your stories to an online archive located at www.ouroakland.org
  2. Help spread the word about the Our Oakland: Eastside Stories website and project among your constituents
  3. Be an advocate and an activist for positive community change through the power of storytelling

As a Featured Partner, you will benefit by:

  1. Having access to a new, exciting way to tell your organizational and personal stories to East Oakland residents, funders, and the public at large
  2. Gaining increased visibility for the content you upload on the Our Oakland: Eastside Stories website.
  3. Being part of a vibrant network of peer organizations who serve East Oakland

Eligibility Featured Partners must be either geographically located in East Oakland or have active clients or constituents in the neighborhood. You must have 501(c)(3) non-profit status, be a governmental agency or a program of such an agency, or be a community or cultural group to participate as a Featured Partner. Featured Partners must demonstrate sufficient capacity to fulfill participation requirements. No groups or organizations that discriminate on basis of race, creed, religion, gender, color, national origin, or sexual orientation or identity may participate as a Featured Partner. Individuals and other groups which do not meet eligibility requirements may participate in the project as individual storytellers. How Content will be Featured Featured Partner Content will remain on your profile page as long as the site is active. Content from Featured Partners will also be featured in a special section of the ouroakland.org homepage. Only the five most recent stories will be shown at any time on the homepage, so posting new content on a regular basis will give your organization the most visibility. Featured Partners will also be listed on the “Partners” webpage in the “About” section which will list all partners with links to their Our Oakland: Eastside Stories profile pages. Your “Profile Page” will provide space that you can format for your logo, program, mission, web address, and contact information, as well as any media content you upload to the site. Since each Featured Partner will be promoting the site to their constituents, all Partners will benefit from the cross-publicity. The more each Partner does to help promote the site, the more all of the groups benefit! Content Requirements All Featured Partner Content must meet the criteria put forth in these content guidelines as well as the terms of use for all stories on the site. Your content should relate to the East Oakland neighborhood and you will tag each story you contribute under at least one of the following Archive 5 topic areas: Our History, Our Culture, Our Families, Our Dreams, or Our Place.
